Will tickets be sold on site?
No, tickets will not be sold on site. Please pre-purchase your tickets at: https://shop.masshort.org/products/tulip-mania
Where can I buy tickets?
Advanced purchase of timed tickets is required and can be purchased at: https://shop.masshort.org/products/tulip-mania
Do you accept Garden Passes during Tulip Mania?
No, we do not accept MHS-issued Garden Passes during Tulip Mania. You are welcome to use your Garden Passes as soon as the event is officially over.
Do you accept EBT during Tulip Mania?
Tulip Mania is classified as a special event and we do not accept EBT or WIC cards for discounted admission during Tulip Mania. Cardholders are welcome to use their EBT or WIC discounts (reduced admission to $5 for 2 adults) during regular Garden Admission periods.
Do you accept Reciprocal Admissions Program members during Tulip Mania?
Yes, we do accept the AHS Reciprocal Admissions Program members during Tulip Mania for gardens outside of the 90-mile range. To see a list of Gardens we don't accept membership from, and to get access to your RAP discount, please read instructions here under Reciprocal Admissions Program.
How do I apply my MHS Membership discount?

For all MHS programs and events, your Membership ID is needed to grant access to member pricing. You can find your ID number on your membership card. If you can't locate your ID number, please contact our membership department at membership@masshort.org.

To get your membership discount, follow these steps:

  • Select your date and time, add the number of Member Adult and Member Child tickets to your cart.
    • Individual Members get 1 Adult ticket at the member price
    • Dual Members get 2 adult tickets at the member price
    • Supporter Members can purchase up to 4 Member Adult tickets (please contact marketing@masshort.org if you wish to purchase more than 2).
  • In your cart, click "Check out"
  • Before completing payment, locate the "Discount code" box
    • On Desktop: the "Discount code" box is located on the right side of the screen under your tickets
    • On Mobile: Scroll down to see Order summary
  • Enter your Membership ID (up to 6 digits, numbers only)
  • Click "Apply", and the adjusted price should apply to your cart total
  • Complete contact and billing information, then complete purchase
What is the Plant Sale and Ikebana Showcase on Saturday 4/20 and Sunday 4/21?
This weekend-long event features displays of Ikebana (Japanese flower arranging) in the Hunnewell Building, plants and dahlia tubers for sale, and family and youth programs throughout the day. This is included with Tulip Mania admission. More info can be found here: https://www.masshort.org/plant-sale-and-showcase
How long will Tulip Mania last?
Tulip Mania officially starts Wednesday, April 17. Tickets will be on sale through Sunday, April 28. If we extend Tulip Mania past this date, more tickets will be released and we will announce it in our email newsletter and on our social media.
When is the best time to visit the Garden for Tulip Mania?
Tulip Mania officially begins Wednesday, April 17. Peak bloom is expected to land the weekend of April 20-21. That weekend will also feature the early spring Plant Sale and Showcase, making it a great time to visit the Garden. The tulips will continue to bloom through April 28, creating a succession of blooms and colors throughout the festival.
Are Tulip Mania and the Garden at Elm Bank wheelchair accessible?
The Garden and tulip field can be access via paved road. Restrooms and buildings include ramps and accessible restrooms.
