David Cannistraro grew up in a Sicilian family in Waltham, helping his grandmother with her large garden. He met Old Garden Rose expert Malcome Lowe (Mike), who inspired him to grow roses. After moving to Stow, MA, he joined NERS and ARS, and his collection grew from a few roses to around 300.
After helping with a local rose garden and meeting Cindy Fraser, Dave founded Just Roses. Now maintaining 35 gardens, he became a Consulting Rosarian, wrote articles, and gave seminars. Nominated for Master Rosarian and trained as a Horticultural Judge, he’s now hybridizing promising seedlings, and though age slows him, his passion for roses drives him forward.
