Marathon Daffodils

Join Mass Hort in this community effort to plant daffodils along the Marathon route. Marathon Daffodils is a collaborative project to strengthen our community by bringing beauty to where there was unfathomable loss, mayhem and sadness.

To support Boston Strong at The Boston Marathon 2014, Marathon Daffodils is building a team of thousands to help plant “Marathon Daffodils” from Hopkinton to Boston. The 26.2 mile route lined with bright yellow, cheerful flowers will serve as an inspiration to runners, residents, participants and visitors.

For more information please contact Diane Valle or Kathy Thomas at

The goal is to raise $1,000 per mile, approximately $26,500 is needed to launch this great tribute.  We hope you join us in this project to promote our unified community and to inspire peace, hope, and rebirth through "Marathon Daffodils."

Mass Hort is helping organize the communities of Wellesley and Natick. That means, our volunteers are working with the Towns and Institutions along the way for permission to plant specific locations, for oversight, determining quantity to be planted, and enlisting volunteer “planters”. The Marathon Daffodil initiative funds daffodils for Town and institutional locations along the Marathon route (not individual homeowners).
