The Highgrove Florilegium

The Highgrove Florilegium is an exquisite two-volume set of 124 facsimile botanical watercolors of plants from TRH The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall’s garden at the family estate in Gloucestershire, England. Seventy-three renowned international artists painted the watercolors. The Highgrove Exhibit includes books and framed botanical prints from the collection.

Opening Reception

Please join Mass Hort for the opening reception on February 11, 2015, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Hunnewell Building. Opening remarks by Susanne Dowdall, volunteer docent from the Museum of Fine Arts. Massachusetts Horticultural Society is pleased to announce an exhibition of watercolor facsimiles from the Highgrove Florilegium from February 12 through March 12, 2016. The Exhibition is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Please review the schedule below for specific open dates.

The Exhibition is free and open to the public. In addition to viewing a selection of images from the Highgrove Florilegium, visitors will have the opportunity to view the exquisitely crafted books that contain these beautiful facsimiles.

Lecture by Carol Govan
Massachusetts Horticultural Society is pleased to present a lecture by Carol Govan on The History of Botanical Art surrounded by beautiful facsimiles in the Highgrove Florilegium and historic prints from Mass Hort’s collection on Tuesday, March 1 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Carol Govan is a professional artist, botanical illustrator and teacher. This lecture will enhance your experience of the exhibit and knowledge of botanical art. Mass Hort members: $15, non-members: $25. Hunnewell Building. For reservations, click here.
