Telling Garden Tales: Book Group Discussion - The Country of the Pointed Firs
Wednesday, February 22 2012, 10:30am - 12:00pm

At the second meeting of the Book Group, Telling Tales from the Garden, the participants will discuss The Country of the Pointed Firs, by Sarah Orne Jewett, a writer from Maine, who captures the feeling of the local scene in all her late 19th century works. Many of them are still popular and can be borrowed at most public libraries. Jewett’s characters belong where they’re found, so we can share our experience of having joined them in another place and time. To say that you’d like to come to the meeting, call or email Maureen Horn, the librarian at 617-933-4912 or This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
