Our next Volunteer Weeding Party is this Saturday, July 10. The weather may finally break, so we'll start early and hope for rain (plenty of it, please) later in the day. We'll have pizza and watermelon for lunch in the Crockett Garden and a good time working with each other.
If you worked on weeding and tidying the Bressingham garden last month, you owe it to yourself to come take a look now. Six-foot tall Rudbeckia maxima, buddleias, phlox, and all kinds of things that were green and anonymous a couple weeks ago are in full bloom. The garden is beautiful and you should pat yourselves on the back! On Saturday, we'll finish the weeding and planting in the AAS Trial Garden, and if we have time, work in the Vegetable Trial Garden.
We'll start work early, starting by 8 a.m., and work until 4 p.m. or until it's too hot or wet or we're too tired. Don't forget your sun screen and bring whatever tool you like to use - the Trial Garden weeding will be mainly hand work, not heavy-duty shovel/spade jobs like we found in the Bressingham - and bring food to share if you like.
Mass Hort is sincerely grateful for all the volunteer help we've been getting to keep the gardens beautiful. Volunteers make all the difference. Thank you!
Sincerely yours,
Vivien Bouffard
