
One of the major horticultural events of the year will be in MetroWest Boston’s back yard on Sunday, May 22 as the Massachusetts Horticultural Society hosts the Society Row Plant Sale at Elm Bank. The MassHort and Society Row Plant Sale will feature thousands of perennials, fifteen local plant societies, garden tours, plant demo stage and the Master Gardener Help Desk. We are excited to have a day when the public really can "Ask the Experts" as you can add to your collection of rare and unusual plants sold by the growers themselves.

This unique event will appeal to tomato enthusiasts from all over the Boston area. Over 75 varieties of tomato plants from heirlooms to hybrids, all fresh from the White Flower Farm greenhouses, will be available for purchase. Tomato guru Scott Daigre will be on hand, helping you choose among the many varieties and answering questions about growing tomatoes for best yield and flavor. Get a head start on your spring plant collection! The hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
About Scott Daigre
Mr. Daigre has a passion for the tastiest Tomatoes, even those with wild shapes and unusual colors. To him, they all have personalities, and he can describe their features off the top of his head. He's the author of "Tomatomania! How to Grow Tomatoes Successfully in Southern California" and also is a garden consultant, instructor, and owner of his own garden design business. Don't miss this opportunity to get advice, share tips, or just meet others who love growing tomatoes.

A Special Note from the Herb Society
The New England Unit of the Herb Society is offering, in addition to the herb plants that will be for sale, a free workshop for kids over the age of five years,and their parents or grandparents on: 'The ABC's of Growing a Green Thumb'
The 'Green Thumb' workshops will be offered at Society Row, Sunday, May 22nd at 11AM and 1 PM. If weather permits, the workshops will be held in the Herb Society's 'Teaching Herb Garden' at Elm Bank.
If there is inclement weather, the Green Thumb workshop will be held in the Greenhouse next to the Putnam building. It is requested that parents or grandparents and their charges Please sign up in advance for these free workshops, (space is limited)
