Natural Plant Dyes
Saturday, June 07 2008, 10:00am - 12:00pm

with Iris Weaver, Herbalist & Professional Gardener

Vivid reds, bright yellows, rich purples, deep blues, and mossy greens--an amazing array of colors can be extracted from plants. Learn about the ancient art of natural dyeing, using plants and a few simple ingredients to dye fibers and fabrics like wool, silk, and cotton. You'll be introduced to the basics of natural dyeing through a demonstration, and learn about the wide range of plants that produce color, and which can be grown in your own garden. Students will go home with several dyed samples produced in class.

Iris Weaver is an herbalist and professional gardener who has been working with plants for 35 years. She is self-taught and believes that everyone can learn from and enjoy plants. She gardens, consults, and teaches classes in the greater Boston area.

This course has been cancelled.
