Grounds and Buildings for Special Occasions

Elm Bank Grounds

The grounds and buildings of Elm Bank, home of the Massachusetts Horticultural Society, are the ideal setting for celebrating weddings and holiday parties or for holding corporate events. Located just 10 minutes outside of Wellesley, Elm Bank has more than 30 acres of fields, forests, and formal gardens as well as a collection of architectural masterpieces.

Event at Elm Bank

One of the most elegant of these is the Hunnewell Building, the carriage house for the former Cheney-Baltzell estate, which once occupied the site. Its great hall boasts nearly 3,000 square feet of event space and is capped with a magnificent vaulted and trussed ceiling. An attached three-season tent expands the event hall, allowing your gathering of up to 400 to spill out into the country air. Let this property, its beauty, and its grandeur become a part of your cherished memories.

The Putnam Horticulture Building is also available for meetings, lectures, and workshops for up to 45 participants. Whether a garden club or local interest group, the Putnam’s facilities will help your organization’s event run smoothly.

There are a number of other rooms available at Elm Bank for smaller gatherings. Each provides the privacy and space your group requires for informative and productive meetings.

With an event held at Elm Bank, you are giving back to one of the oldest charitable institutions in the country. Since 1829, the Massachusetts Horticultural Society has been enhancing the quality of life for members and friends by serving as a resource for all to appreciate and enjoy plants and the environment. Proceeds from all events held at Elm Bank are directly applied to this vision, and to the restoration and maintenance of the property.
