Honor the anniversary, birthday, recent achievement, or memory of a loved one with a gift to the Massachusetts Horticultural Society.

Memorial/Tribute Gifts

A non­-designated donation in any amount in the name of a loved one is always appreciated by the Massachusetts Horticultural Society. Your donation helps the Society carry out its mission to encourage the science and act of horticulture and to develop the public's enjoyment, appreciation, and understanding of plants and the environ­ment. Additionally, your gift helps to care for The Gardens at Elm Bank. Mass Hort is a 501 (c ) (3) organization.

Bequests

Bequests create a lasting legacy. Assets remain available to you during your lifetime. You may reduce taxes on your estate. Additionally, you may designate Massachusetts Horticultural Society as a beneficiary of insurance policies or retirement plans, or make a donation in the form of stocks and bonds.

A Living Tribute

Honor or remember a unique individual by dedicating a tree in the Gardens at Elm Bank. A tree creates a living memory of your loved one. Trees are approximately 10 feet tall. Suggestions include: Honey Lo­cust, flowering Japanese Tree Lilac (blooms end of June), Tulip Tree, Eastern Larch or Umbrella Magnolia. A small plaque on a plant sign will acknowledge the gift. A gift of a tree is $1,500.

Commemorative Tribute Bench

A memorial or commemorative bench is a beautiful way to honor a special person. A gift of $5,000 will endow the purchase, installation, and 10 years on-going maintenance of a wooden commemorative bench. Acknowledge­ment is include on a plaque attached to the bench.

Commemorative Planter

A memorial or commemorative planter is an excellent choice when honoring a loved one. A gift of $1,250 will endow the purchase, installation, and 5­ years ongoing maintenance of a planter on the property. Acknowledgement is include on a plaque attached to the planter.

Library Book Plate

One of the oldest horticultural libraries in America, the Massachusetts Horticultural Society Library offers an ele­gant book plate in a donated book for $250.

Memorial Service

Many people choose to a hold memorial services in the Gardens at Elm Bank for its beauty and place for quiet reflection. Additionally, the Hunnewell Carriage House is available for services.
